Meet The Artist behind
LadyPinkaboo!
The Short Story: I am a digital artist and pencil doodler who has been drawing since I can remember. I create comics, concept art, character designs, and illustrations for my clients and love to paint landscapes and doodle in my free time.

The Long Story: I've been drawing ever since I could remember. When I was 7, my mom taught me how to use observation to sketch what I saw. Though she wasn't known to be an artist, she showed me how draw my first Disney character, Ariel. Mom would break down how to use shapes as a guide to build a character. From rectangles, she drew fingers. From boxes, circles, and pipes, she created a mermaid. Once I felt comfortable with drawing mermaids and dolphins, I started drawing the llama version of Emperor Kuzco.
My teachers and classmates noticed and called my work 'advanced' and that I should have a formal education in art. In Fact, my art was submitted by my 3rd grade teacher for a gallery in Miami. It was also a contest and included submissions from students (3rd - 12th) from schools all over Miami. My watercolor of a flamingo managed to win 3rd place and was the first time ever that my work was viewed in a gallery. Though this sparked my passion for drawing and painting, it wasn't until my family's 2002 trip to Disney's MGM Studios (now Disney's Hollywood Studios) that got me interested in the film industry. During our visit to The Magic of Disney Animation, the director of Brother Bear demonstrated the process of 2D character animation with one of the characters from the film, Koda. He showed how hand drawn animation works on top of teaching us how to draw the cute bear cub. In just three frames of a bear drawing, I was hooked on the Animation Industry.

My family and I were always on the move. Every three to five years the folks at my parent's job would tell them to move from one city to another. This is why I called Miami, Fl home for most of my childhood, even though I was born in Albuqueque, NM. I spent my childhood traveling till I was able to go to art school after high school. Before the age of 18, I traveled, visited and lived in 9 different countries and took classes in Spanish, French, and Japanese.

After receiving my BFA for Animation and Special Effects, I moved to California where I currently work in freelance as an illustrator, animator, editor, and character design. Since moving to Los Angeles, I had the privilege to work at the Happiest Place on Earth, Disneyland, for over 8 years. I made lots of friends along the way and continue to strive to reach my goal in working for animation studios, including Disney, Dreamworks, and Sony Pictures Animation.
